Kadyrov attacked Prigozhin with criticism

Ramzan Kadyrov criticized the founder of PMC “Wagner” Evgeny Prigozhin for the wording in which the latter announced the settlement of the conflict between the entourage of the head of Chechnya and PMC commanders. He also hinted at Prigozhin’s impurity in supplying the army and accused him of disloyalty to Vladimir Putin.

Kadyrov wrote about his relationship with Prigozhin, whom he previously called “brother”, in a telegram. The head of Chechnya was outraged that Prigozhin was the first to publicly announce the settlement of the disagreement – according to the Chechen politician, he should have done it himself, since it was he who initiated the telephone conversation with Prigozhin.

Also, Kadyrov did not like the wording used in Prigozhin’s statement, especially the allusion to the fate of “Yamadaev and a bunch of other people.” (Yamadaev’s brothers were killed under various circumstances. The UAE authorities put Kadyrov’s close associate Adam Delimkhanov on the wanted list on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Sulim Yamadaev in the country. – RS) and the fact that the PMC owner called the Chechens a national minority.

Kadyrov reproached Prigozhin, who repeatedly attacked the Ministry of Defense with harsh criticism due to the insufficient, in his opinion, supply of PMC “Wagner” with supplies, and the fact that he himself had something to do with this provision: “Who supplies various food products for the needs of the Ministry defense of the Russian Federation and does it have a good stable income? We are aware of all the fine details of this process.”

In addition, Kadyrov claims that the Chechen unit “Akhmat” fights more effectively than PMC “Wagner”, in particular, because “Mariupol, to which the attention of the whole world was focused: was taken in record time with a much smaller number of personnel. Not for 10 months, like Artemovsk (Bakhmut), which, compared to Mariupol, is three times less, and just two more.”

Finally, the head of Chechnya condemned the harsh statements addressed to the military leadership, which Prigozhin allows himself: “Yes, I myself criticized the decisions of the Ministry of Defense a couple of times, but then I still understood one simple thing: from the height of the field of view of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, it is better to see,” he notes Kavkaz. Prigozhin has not yet commented on Kadyrov’s statements.

• The head of Chechnya announced the redeployment of Chechen units to the separatist “DPR” on May 31. Previously, Kadyrov residents were located mainly in the so-called “LPR”. According to the assistant to the head of Chechnya and the commander of the special forces “Akhmat” Apta Alaudinov, the Chechen units were transferred in the direction of the Ukrainian city of Marinka. The task here is supposedly to capture “a whole number” of settlements – it is not known exactly which ones.
• Prigozhin, answering the question about the new task of the Kadyrovs after the offensive in the “DNR”, said that he did not know where the Kadyrovs would be, since this was secret information during the war: “They do not have the task of liberating the entire “DNR”. And Kadyrov, as far as I understand, did not talk about it. They will be engaged in certain directions in which they will act. I don’t see any problems here.”
• These words caused the indignation of Adam Delymkhanov. He called Prigozhin “a blogger who shouts about problems to the whole world”, while the Ministry of Defense of Russia allegedly constantly helped mercenaries. “We all know how many people you put in the direction of Bakhmut for 7-8 months, you were the leader. How much the Ministry of Defense supported you for these 7-8 months, we all know who is here. You were given more than anyone, and despite this, there are so many victims. Enough talking,” said Delymkhanov.
• Then the assistant to the head of Chechnya, the commander of the special forces “Akhmat” Apta Alaudinov, also spoke. He also stated that Prigozhin allegedly had all the means that the special forces “Akhmat” did not have. In addition, Alaudinov publicly admitted that the mercenaries of PMC “Wagner” transferred to the service of the Chechen unit – the cooperation of these units was previously reported by the media. The commander declared that the Chechen unit had enough forces to liberate the entire territory of the separatist “DNR”.
• Prigozhin replied that he did not see anything reprehensible in his statements about the Akhmat unit. According to the businessman, “all participants in this discussion” know his phone number and can contact him. In addition, Prigozhin confirmed his opinion about “the necessity of introducing the death penalty and punishing the highest-ranking officials of the Ministry of Defense for mistakes that led to the death of personnel and other problems of the SVO (“special military operation” – this is how the Russian authorities call the war in Ukraine. – RS)”.
• Dmitriy Utkin, the co-founder of PMC “Wagner”, also joined the controversy, but addressed himself only to Daudov: “We are always ready to talk like a man with a man. Especially since we have known each other since the 1st and 2nd wars in Chechnya.” These words can be a veiled threat, as they hint at the fact that, according to data from open sources, Utkin participated in the wars in Chechnya on the side of the federal government, while Kadyrov and many of his associates, including Daudov, before their transition to the side Russia was on the opposite side.
• Soon after this exchange of claims, Prigozhin announced a meeting with Kadyrov and a settlement of the differences.
• Analysts of the American “Institute for the Study of War” said that the Russian authorities could force Chechen units to take on an offensive role in the war against Ukraine in order to break the relationship between the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and the owner of PMC “Wagner” Evgeny Prigozhin.
