Kazakhstan banned the sale of 106 types of goods to Russia due to sanctions

The Kazakh authorities banned the delivery of 106 items of goods to Russia. The list includes products that can be used for military operations, KazTAG reports.
“We export all goods, except those related to the war – restrictions have been imposed on them. These are 106 goods – we have completely banned their export,” said Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebaev.
Electrochips and various electronic devices were banned. Basically, these are foreign products. Torebaev noted that they are prohibited precisely for export, and import is still allowed.
In May, Important Stories, the Center for Corruption and Organized Crime Research (OCCRP) and Der Spiegel released an investigation alleging that Russia was buying chips and drones for the war in Ukraine through companies in Kazakhstan to circumvent sanctions.
The authorities of Kazakhstan state that they have completely banned the supply of military goods to Russia since May 2022, and introduced special certification and export permits for dual-use goods.
At the same time, the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs admitted that private companies can re-export prohibited goods, but the country’s authorities are trying to stop such deliveries.
