The court in St. Petersburg awarded Tatyana Levycheva two thousand rubles in compensation for moral damages for the fact that she was illegally detained in the police station without a report, was not given food and water, and was also handcuffed for 14 hours. She told MR-7 about it.

Levycheva was detained on the evening of May 10, 2022, after she hung a green ribbon on the monument military trainers and service dogs of Leningrad.

Around midnight, Levycheva was brought to the police station and locked in a room behind the duty unit. Two hours later, she was taken to inspect the scene of the accident, after which she was returned to the police station. There, she was handcuffed to an iron chair for 14 hours, not fed or given water. The activist was also forced to take a dactyloscopy. Reports on Levycheva were drawn up 17 hours after the arrest (according to the law, the report must be drawn up no more than 3 hours later).

Reports were drawn up on Levycheva for the article on the discrediting of the army and petty hooliganism.

The next day, the judge closed the case against Levycheva due to the absence of a crime. She filed a lawsuit in court, demanding that the actions of the police be recognized as illegal, and that she be awarded moral damages of 500,000 rubles.

The trial lasted 10 months.

Levycheva’s claim was partially satisfied, finding it illegal not to provide her with food, water and a place to sleep. The activist intends to dispute the compensation amount.
