Liliya Chanysheva is transferred to Ufa to pass a new sentence

The former head of the Ufa headquarters of Alexei Navalny, Liliya Chanysheva, was found in the pre-trial detention center in Perm, from where she will be transferred to Ufa in the near future, Navalny’s team reported.
The stage is connected with the fact that the Court of Cassation returned Chanysheva’s case to the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan – after the prosecutor’s office demanded that the punishment of former chief of staff Navalny be increased from 7.5 to 10 years in prison.
Earlier it was reported that Chanysheva was taken from correctional colony No. 28 in the city of Berezniki, Perm Region, where she was serving her sentence. For several days, nothing was known about her whereabouts.
- Liliya Chanysheva was arrested in November 2021 in a “joint criminal case” against the Russian politician Alexei Navalny and his closest associates. Earlier, the authorities recognized Navalny’s headquarters as an extremist organization. Chanysheva was one of the first to be arrested in Russia in connection with their activities.
- In June 2023, a court in Ufa sentenced Chanysheva to 7.5 years in prison and a fine of 400,000 rubles, with a seven-year ban on administering websites.
