Lithuania and its neighboring countries will conduct exercises in case of the need to close the border with Belarus. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Lithuania Agne Bilotaite. She did not name the estimated date of the start of the study.
On Friday, a meeting of interior ministers of European countries bordering Belarus and Russia took place in Vilnius. It was attended by representatives of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Poland and Ukraine. “Everyone feels a common threat and the need to work together to strengthen national security,” – wrote The ministers prepared a joint statement on the fight against “hybrid threats”, including joint work in the event of information or cyberattacks.
She also reportedthat Lithuania and Poland agreed to strengthen patrolling of the borders with Russia and Belarus in order to resist illegal migration.
