Lithuania will allocate 200 million euros in military aid to Ukraine

Lithuania will allocate a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 200 million euros. This was announced by the country’s President Gitanas Nauseda at a press conference after a meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“In January, we will again send ammunition, generators and detonation systems to Ukraine, and in February – M5777 armored personnel carriers,” he clarified. In addition, Nauseda said that Lithuania intends to continue training its Ukrainian servicemen and strengthen cooperation in the field of defense industry.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the President of Lithuania for his support, especially noted the contribution of Lithuanian specialists to the air defense of Ukraine and the fight against drones.

Zelensky arrived in Vilnius on Wednesday, his visit was not announced in advance. Next, he will visit other Baltic countries — Latvia and Estonia. In addition to the situation at the front and military support for Ukraine, he will discuss with the heads of the Baltic states the prospects of Ukraine joining the European Union and NATO.
