Maryna Ovsyannikova denied information about her poisoning

A former employee of the First Russian Channel, Maryna Ovsyannikova, denied information about her alleged poisoning. In her Telegram channel, she reported that she was actually hospitalized in Paris after she fell ill on the street. But tests did not find toxic substances in her blood.

“There was no “white powder”, as reported by an unknown source, followed by many respected publications, on the door handle,” Ovsyannikova emphasized.

She also said that the Paris police decided to conduct an investigation on suspicion of poisoning, given that she is an opponent of the Kremlin. “There is nothing surprising in this, since Putin’s Russia has long been associated with war and the poisoning of politicians and journalists,” the ex-editor wrote.

On October 12, the French media reported that Ovsyannikova was hospitalized and that her poor health could be caused by poison.

• In early October, a court in Moscow sentenced Ovsyannikova in absentia to 8.5 years in prison under the article about “fakes about the Russian army.” The reason for this was her picket in front of the Kremlin in July 2022. Then Ovsyannikova unfolded a poster with the inscription “Putin is a murderer, his soldiers are fascists” and photographs of children killed in Ukraine.
• In March 2022, as an employee of the First Channel, Ovsyannikova ran on the air of the Vremya news program with the poster “Stop the war! Do not believe the propaganda, you will be lied to here.” On the same day, she recorded a video appeal in which she called to go to rallies. For this, Ovsyannikova was found guilty of “organizing a public event without notification” and was fined 30,000 rubles. After that, she resigned and left Russia.
