Film critic Anton Dolin’s documentary about director Alexei Herman, screened at the “Message to Man” film festival in St. Petersburg, removed all references to the author of the film, and the voiceover text voiced by Dolin was rewritten by Herman’s son Alexei.

In addition, in the press releases dedicated to the film, as well as on the website of the “Message to Man” festival, the directors of the film are not listed as Dolin, but completely different people: Alexey Herman Jr., Elena Okopnaya and Natalya Gudovych.

According to the media, the decision not to mention the Valley is made by two producers of the film – all the same Herman Jr. and Alexey Bokov. According to film critic Zinaida Pronchenko, this is connected with Anton Dolin’s status as an “innocent agent”, as well as his cooperation with the Meduza magazine, which the Russian authorities considered an “undesirable organization”.

“Meduza” reminds that in 2011, Anton Dolyn published the book “Herman: Interview. Essay. Screenplay”, based on numerous conversations between the film critic and the director. Since then, it has been republished several times.
