The participant of the TV show reported on the “roundup” of conscripts at the exit from the mosque

On Friday, October 20, riot police in Kotelnyky, Moscow region, allegedly detained several dozen mosque attendees and took them to the military enlistment office, where they began to pressure them to sign a contract with the Russian army. This was reported by a number of mass media, including “Dozhd”, referring in particular to one of the detainees – Mamut Useinov. He is known as a finalist of the show “Perepoi zvezdu”, which aired on Channel One.

As Useinov wrote in a telegram, he and other parishioners were detained right at the exit from the mosque after the Friday prayer. They were taken to a bus, which took them to the military enlistment office in Lyubertsy, where the medical commission was held, and from there to Balashikha, a suburb of Moscow, to the assembly point for contract servicemen.

“In the evening, we were told that we all had to sign a contract for an hour, or go to prison. On the morning of October 21 at the construction site, I heard that we would all be sent to SVO,” says Useinov. It follows from his words that those who did not agree to sign the contract will be called up for conscription. According to him, some detainees have already been taken to a military unit. The artist himself refused to comply with the requirements, citing medical evidence. It is not yet known whether he was released. Useinov declared that his rights had been violated.

Useinov received a Russian passport in 2014 in the annexed Crimea. According to the singer, he did not serve due to his health. He is 26 years old, that is, by age he falls under the draft.

Useinov’s last Instagram story was published on Saturday evening. In it, he reported that he was placed in the barracks: “They said that tomorrow the Investigative Committee will come and talk to us.”

Representatives of the authorities have not yet commented on the situation, with the exception of deputy Viktor Sobolev, who stated that he was not aware of the case and clarified that in any case it was not a call for mobilization.

Now in Russia there is an autumn draft for military service. The authorities claim that conscripts will not be sent to the so-called SVO zone, that is, to the war in Ukraine. At the same time, the authorities are actively recruiting contract servicemen.

Recently, there have been several reports of attempts by the authorities to attract migrants who have received Russian citizenship to participate in the war. “Roundups” on them were reported in different regions of Russia, including St. Petersburg. They are detained, taken to the military enlistment office and placed on the military register, while offering to conclude contracts for army service and threatening punishment in case of refusal. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, recently suggested that migrants who have received Russian passports should lose their citizenship if they do not want to take part in the war against Ukraine.
