About 2,000 vehicles are waiting to enter Ukraine at three checkpoints blocked by Polish carriers.
As Europeyska Pravda writes, the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure reported this on the morning of November 26.
The agency said that on Saturday, together with the Association of International Motor Carriers, they distributed 2,500,000 liters of water, 1,200 lunches and necessary medicines to drivers blocked at the border at the Dorogusk-Yagodin checkpoint. In normal times, 680 trucks passed through it per day, now, due to the blockade, several dozen per day.
“On the Polish side of the border, more than 800 trucks are waiting in a physical queue,” the message states.
Regarding the points “Korchova – Krakowiec” and “Rava-Ruska – Grebenne”, it is reported that the number of trucks in the physical queue on the Polish side is 700 and 600 vehicles, respectively.
Blocked drivers and carriers can contact the support line at the specified contacts.
The agency reminded that since last week, the Ukrainian drivers assistance headquarters, created together with specialized associations, has been operating. The ministry also initiated the sending of EU monitoring groups to blocked checkpoints in order to record the real situation at the border.
As you know, Polish transporters, which have been blocking three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine for trucks since November 6, on Thursday began the blockade another checkpoint – “Medyka-Sheghini”. Their blockade may last until January 3.
On November 22, the Verkhovna Rada addressed the new Sejm and Senate of Poland with a proposal regarding unlocking the border for carriers.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Kyiv has an understanding of how to act and that “it takes some time” for changes.
