From November 27, Polish carriers will block traffic at the Shegyny checkpoint 24 hours a day.
Andriy Demchenko, the spokesman of the State Security Service of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the telethon “Edyny Novyny”.
According to him, previously the participants of the action began to restrict traffic in front of the Shegyna checkpoint from November 23 only during the daytime (9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Polish time). However, from next week, namely November 27, traffic restrictions will continue around the clock.
Also, the spokesman of the State Emergency Service added that the blocking of traffic concerns exactly 4 directions (“Yagodin – Dorogusk”, “Krakivets – Korchova”, “Rava-Ruska – Grebenne”, “Sheghini – Medica”), as they will allow trucks weighing more than 7,000 kg to cross the border. 5 tons. All other checkpoints on the border with Poland are designed for transport weighing up to 7.5 tons.
As of November 26, there were about 3,500 trucks in queues from the Polish side in these four directions, the largest of which were in front of the “Shegyni” checkpoint, as well as in front of the “Rava-Ruska” checkpoint.
