Antibiotics and two additional mugs of boiling water per day began to be given to Alexei Navalny, who fell ill with the flu in the colony, the opposition lawyer Vadym Kobzev said. According to him, Navalny’s condition “ceased to deteriorate.” At the same time, the drugs bought by the prisoner’s associates still cannot be handed over.
Kobzev connected the minimal medical care that his protégé began to receive with an open letter from Russian doctors in defense of Navalny. “It clearly had an effect, but so far it’s classic Fsynovsky – they all run around and fuss, the temperature is measured under the video recorder, but nothing else happens,” the lawyer said.
On January 10, Russian doctors sent an open letter to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, with the demand to stop bullying the oppositionist Alexei Navalny, whose condition began to deteriorate sharply, and who was sent to a detention center for the tenth time during his imprisonment, where you can basically only stand and sit . Also, the authors of the letter demanded that civilian doctors be admitted to Navalny, and if there are indications – to hospitalize him in a civilian hospital for a full examination and treatment.
To date, more than 600 doctors have signed the letter.
- Navalny has been in the Vladimir colony of strict regime since June 2022. First, the oppositionist was replaced with a conditional term for a real one in the Yves Roche case, and then tried in the case of defamation of a veteran (sentenced to a fine) and in the case of fraud and insulting a judge (sentenced to nine years in prison). At the moment, several more criminal cases have been initiated against Navalny.
