Navalny is again not given letters from his wife

Opposition Russian politician Alexey Navalny reported that he was once again not being handed letters from his wife to the prison where he is serving his sentence.

According to him, the administration of the colony informs him daily that Yulia Navalny’s next letter “has been seized by censorship, as it contains signs of preparation for a crime.”

“And I write to her: “Yulia, stop preparing crime! It’s better to prepare borscht for the children.” And she can’t stop. She invents and invents new crimes. And she writes and writes to me about them in letters,” Navalny quips.

This is not the first time Navalny’s letters have been refused. Almost an hour ago, his wife reported the same thing. Then the politician was not even informed about the sent letters.

• Navalny is in a high-security prison in the Vladimir region on charges of fraud. In September 2023, as an “incorrigible” he was transferred to a single room of the cell type (EPKT) for an hour – “the most severe punishment possible in all types of colonies,” he wrote.
• In August 2023, the Moscow City Court found Navalny guilty of creating an extremist community, calling for extremism and his financing, and sentenced the politician to 19 years in a special regime colony. According to the sentence, Navalny must be transferred from the current colony to another.
• Navalny has pleaded not guilty, many human rights organizations have recognized him as a political prisoner.
