Navalny’s associates found Isinbayeva real estate in Spain

Elena Isynbayeva, a two-time Olympic champion in athletics, Vladimir Putin’s confidant and a member of the Putin Team movement, owns two villas and a penthouse in Spain with a total value of about three million euros, according to a new investigation of Alexei Navalny’s associates.

According to investigators, Isinbayeva made her first real estate purchase in Spain in October 2018. Then she bought a two-level penthouse with a pool with a total area of 155 square meters on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. Its value is estimated at approximately one million euros.

Later, in February 2022, the athlete bought two villas twenty minutes away from the previously purchased penthouse. Real estate with an area of 240 and 280 square meters cost Isinbayeva, according to Navalny’s team, 2 million 76 thousand euros, and it was thanks to her that the Russian woman received a residence permit in Spain.

Alexei Navalny’s associates plan to turn to the Spanish authorities with a demand to cancel Isinbayeva’s residence permit and expel her from the country. “People who have helped Putin seize power for many years cannot be allowed to live peacefully in Europe. Whether you are an ordinary deputy, a propagandist, or an Olympic champion. You will not be able to remain silent,” oppositionists say.

In turn, the “Dozhd” TV channel, referring to the Spanish publication El Digital Sur, notes that the Ministry of Defense of Russia granted Elena Isinbayeva, who holds the military rank of major, “an indefinite leave of absence for her merits.” The athlete herself said on Monday that she is a “woman of the world” and “lives where she works.”

  • After the start of full-scale Russian military aggression, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, added Elena Isynbaeva to the sanctions list. In his opinion, the athlete has been supporting the aggressive and repressive actions of the Russian government for many years. It is known that in 2012 Isinbayeva became Vladimir Putin’s confidant in the presidential elections, and in January 2020 she joined the working group on amendments to the Constitution of Russia. They, in particular, allow Putin to be elected for two more terms.
