New license plates will appear in Ukraine

In Ukraine, owners of registered cars will receive new numbers. The Ministry of Internal Affairs approved the changes. The department’s order has already been published.

According to the document, license plates of cars issued online or through the Diya application will use the following designations instead of the first two letters denoting the region:

“ED”, “DC” – will receive vehicles registered using the means of the driver’s electronic cabinet of the functional subsystem of the Unified State Register of the Unified Information System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
“DI”, “PD” – will receive vehicles registered through the United State Web Portal of Electronic Services, in particular, using the mobile application of the Diya portal.

Let’s remind

Starting in 2020, owners of electric cars can attach “green” number plates when registering their cars. They testify to the complete environmental friendliness of the car. These license plates contain letters of the Latin alphabet and numbers of green color.

Earlier, “Ministry of Finance” wrote that since December 14, two resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers came into force in Ukraine, which introduce changes in the procedure of state registration and re-registration of vehicles. In particular, the expert study of vehicles will be separated from the state registration procedure.
