Non-payment of taxes for 2 billion: the chief accountant of GZK Zhevago received suspicion

The chief accountant of “Poltava Mining and Processing Plant” billionaire Kostyantyn Zhevago was informed of suspicion in the case of non-payment of taxes by the enterprise for 2 billion UAH.

This is reported by the press service Bureau of Economic Security, Security services of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, in 2018-2021, the suspect entered false information into the company’s official documents, in particular, regarding the charging of fees for the use of the subsoil of an iron ore deposit. From September 2018 to December 2021, due to the illegal actions of the accountant, the company evaded paying rent to the budget for the use of subsoil.

As evidenced by a comprehensive forensic examination during the pre-trial investigation, the amount of losses caused to the state due to non-payment of annuities to the budget amounts to almost 2 billion hryvnias.

Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved. In addition, it is necessary to identify all persons who may be involved in the commission of an offense.

Investigative actions were carried out by SBU employees and BEB detectives under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
