State budget expenditures in January almost doubled revenues

In January 2023, the general fund of the state budget received UAH 104.4 billion. At the same time, cash expenditures of the state budget amounted to UAH 193.7 billion, including the general fund — UAH 183.6 billion, or 80.6% of the total of the reporting period. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

What was the state treasury filled with?
In addition, last month, the general fund of the state budget received UAH 36.6 billion in the form of international aid (grants).
It is noted that for January the state budget was implemented with a deficit in the amount of UAH 72.3 billion, including the general fund – in the amount of UAH 78.9 billion, against the planned drawing of the general fund for January 2023 with a deficit in the amount of UAH 158.6 billion.
In January, receipts of ESR in the Pension fund and social insurance funds amounted to UAH 32.4 billion.

Actual state borrowings in the general fund of the state budget for January 2023 amounted to UAH 160.1 billion, or 54.7% of those planned for this period.
Including the placement of OVGZ, 41.4 billion UAH were attracted for financing the state budget, including 2.6 billion UAH ($40.2 million and 29.4 million euros) in foreign currency.
From external sources, UAH 118.7 billion (EUR 3 billion) of EU macro-financial assistance funds were attracted, respectively.
At the same time, payments for repayment of the state debt for January amounted to UAH 12.8 billion (98.2% of the plan), maintenance payments — UAH 0.6 billion (27.2% of the plan).
