Ukrainian saboteurs could blow up the Severny Potok and Severny Potok-2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea. This is stated in a joint investigation by the German magazine Der Spiegel and the media company ZDF.

Journalists believe that the sabotage was carried out by a group of divers and explosives technicians from the yacht “Andromeda”, which they rented through proxy persons from the German company Mola Yachting. The investigation found traces of the explosive substance octogen on her – the same one that was found at the site of the explosion.

The investigators also refer to the secret correspondence of the intelligence agencies of Germany, the Netherlands and the American CIA that fell into their hands in the summer of 2022. It contains a warning about sabotage being prepared by Ukraine and states that the operation is commanded directly by the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, while the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, does not know about it. Spiegel claims that the German authorities did not pay due attention to the warning.

Journalists and the police managed to identify one of the participants of the alleged sabotage group. This is Valery K., a soldier of the 93rd Mechanized Armed Forces, from the city of Dnipro. Traces of his DNA were found on “Andromeda”.

The authors of the investigation cannot confirm whether the group acted at the behest of Kyiv, and who in this case gave the order, or planned the sabotage independently.

  • At the end of September 2022, three out of four strands of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines were damaged. The highway will not survive the restoration. Investigations in Sweden, Denmark and Germany showed that gas pipelines were blown up, but the culprits are still being identified.
  • The Russian authorities believe that the USA and its allies were involved in the accident.
  • The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, denies Kyiv’s involvement in the Northern Stream explosions.
