“Thanks to the law (adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, editor’s note), non-bank financial organizations will be able to open accounts and issue cards if they receive a license. In the third quarter, we have the ambition to start entering this market, so now we are in a state of preparation,” Kryvoshapko said.

He explained that this creates new opportunities for the company and its clients, such as, for example, the opening of credit limits.

“Much more technical possibilities will open up. For example, we have now launched the “receive a parcel on credit” service. But this is a rather limited functionality. If there will be accounts and it will be possible to issue cards, then we will be able to provide clients with, for example, a credit limit for the card. This greatly expands opportunities,” added NovaPay CEO.

Who will be interested in cards

The company believes that the cards will be of interest to small entrepreneurs who send goods through Nova Poshta and receive transfers.

“There will be an account and there will be an opportunity to manage it. It is not easy to come to the branch and get money or get money to a bank account in a bank, as now. We will provide a comprehensive account access service in our system. I am sure it will be faster, more convenient and safer. Maybe even cheaper. The plans also include business services, and possibly even lending,” Kryvoshapko said.

New financial application

For this, the company is going to launch a new financial application that will be integrated with the Nova Poshta application.

“I’ve already tested the application’s MVP (minimally viable product, Ed.) on my own smartphone, and I like it,” he said.

Let’s remind

In July 2022, the NBU approved the procedure for issuing payment cards by non-banks.
