Two-time winner of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Lyudmila Luzan, withdrew from the Cup of Ukraine in rowing and canoeing due to a missile attack on Uman. The athlete was not far from the house that was hit by the Russian missile. The competitions themselves will not be canceled, he reports with reference to “Social Sport”.

At first, the athlete wrote a corresponding post on Instagram, however, she later deleted it.

“Suspilne Sport” asked the head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Ihor Nagaev, for a comment regarding the holding of the starts. He, as indicated, confirmed that the competitions will take place at the scheduled time. Such a decision, as reported, was taken by the head judge of the Cup of Ukraine.

According to Nagaev, “Ludmila Luzan lived 300 meters from the place where the rocket hit, she had a nervous breakdown.” “She informed the coaching staff and her leadership in the National Guard about her decision not to start,” the message says.

On April 28, at 4:30 a.m., the enemy launched a rocket attack, in particular, on Uman. One of the rockets hit a nine-story residential building. In this house, the first entrance was practically destroyed. According to preliminary data, 109 people lived in this entrance, 46 apartments, of which 27 were completely destroyed. As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the bodies of 2 more people were recovered from the rubble. There are currently 15 dead.
