The military court in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk sentenced Alexander Pushankin to seven years in a strict-regime prison on the charge of violent actions against a superior during the mobilization period. This is reported on the court’s website, the name of the accused is Sibir.Realii.
According to the verdict, Pushankin, being dissatisfied with his superior’s order, punched the commander in the face – his upper lip burst. This happened on February 16, 2023, a few months after the announcement of the end of mobilization in Russia for the war against Ukraine. However, the court specifically specified that Pushankin committed the crime “during the period of mobilization.”
In addition to the term, Pushankin was given the rank of sergeant. The trial was held in a military unit. After the verdict was announced, the soldiers were given a lecture on the criminal liability of military personnel “for committing crimes against military service during the period of mobilization.”
