On the anniversary of Gorbachev’s death, the first issue of the magazine “Horby” was published

On the first anniversary of the death of USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev, the first issue of the Gorby magazine was published in Russia. This is reported by “Novaya gazeta Evropa”.

The editor-in-chief of the magazine is journalist Andrey Lipsky. Creates a publication “group of like-minded people”. Roskomnadzor did not allow “Horby” to be registered on the territory of Russia as mass media. It is reported that the agency required the creators to provide a certificate on the absence of a second citizenship. Such certificates are not issued in Russia.

According to the creators of the publication, its goals include demythologizing history, reality and the future and opposing “the growing ideological and political obscurantism in all its forms.” The goals of the magazine are also stated to be opposition to “scientific servility that justifies any actions of power” and opposition to “attempts to impose a single “correct” approach to assessing history, modern reality, and development prospects.” The authors also claim that “Horby” is not a magazine about Gorbachev.
