One of the versions of the explosion in Makhachkala

The Russian Investigative Committee announced on Tuesday evening that the agency is considering a number of versions of the explosion at the gas station in Makhachkala, as a result of which, according to the latest data, 35 people died. One of the versions is a violation of the storage of agrochemicals, noted the SC.

The department also stated that the initial inspection of the scene of the accident has been completed. Earlier, it was announced that a criminal case was initiated on the basis of the state of emergency under the article on the provision of services that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two or more people due to negligence. The maximum penalty for this article is up to ten years in prison.

Three children are among the victims of the Monday evening explosion. 80 people were injured. Tuesday, August 14, was declared a day of mourning in Dagestan. According to the Ministry of Health, 60 victims are in hospitals, 11 of them are in serious condition.

According to the investigation, on August 14, around ten o’clock in the evening, a fire broke out in the car service building during the maintenance of cars, the fire spread to a neighboring room, in which flammable fertilizer could be stored, as a result of which an explosion occurred. The fire with an area of ​​600 square meters was extinguished only after 4 hours.
