At the end of January this year, Microsoft announced that it would invest in the artificial intelligence laboratory OpenAI for several years. Exact amounts were not named, but as early as mid-January, Bloomberg sources noted that the corporation was negotiating an investment of $10 billion.

Later, Google announced plans to integrate the generative artificial intelligence technology underlying ChatGPT into its own search engines.

Google is releasing Bard amid problems in its flagship search business, which is its main source of revenue. Earlier, the Alphabet company reported that sales did not live up to expectations against the backdrop of a decline in digital advertising and investor concerns over competition in the field of artificial intelligence from ChatGPT and Open AI.
