Participants of an anti-war exhibition were detained in the Leningrad region

In the Leningrad region, in the village of Taitsy, the artist Yulia Gornova was detained. According to Sever.Realii website, she was detained in the apartment where the anti-war exhibition was supposed to take place.

The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the verification of Gornova’s documents. The artist did not answer the phone call of the Sever.Realy correspondent.

The Telegram channel SOTAvision reported on Tuesday that the police in the Leningrad Region broke into an exhibition of anti-war artists. 14 people were taken to the department – among them Vitaly Ioffe, Tatiana Sychkareva, Elina Kozich, Nina Ryabushkina, Marianna Khanukova, Ekaterina Statsenko, as well as SOTA correspondent Vlada Makeychyk.

A minor girl and a journalist from RusNews, Elina Kozych, are also among those detained. After the police started knocking on the door of the apartment, those gathered decided to leave the room through the window, but were detained. The police interrogated them right in the car, writes RusNews.

According to law enforcement agencies, the detention is connected with suspicion of theft.

The exhibition with the works of St. Petersburg artists was timed for May 9.
