Poland opened the border for the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products

On Friday night, Poland allowed the transit of agricultural products from Ukraine after stopping it along with imports last week.
This was reported by the Polish radio station RMF FM, as “European Truth” writes.
After two o’clock in the morning, the decree of the Minister of Development and Technology appeared in the Legislative Gazette, which allowed the transit of agricultural products from Ukraine through the territory of Poland.
According to the correspondent of the radio station, the first vehicles with food products from Ukraine, which will cross the Dorogusk checkpoint in the Lublin Voivodeship, will go to Germany and the Netherlands. In these trucks there are cereals, corn and eggs.
“The final stage of preparation is now underway. Five trucks are just waiting to be formed into a convoy with uniformed officers. This is a new way of protecting the transport.
The services will accompany the drivers and thus ensure that the contents of the cargo in these trucks – cereals, corn and eggs – are not unloaded on the territory of Poland,” correspondent Roch Kowalski said.
The transit procedure guarantees that transit declarations made at the Ukrainian-Polish border cannot be changed on the territory of Poland. This will ensure that transit goods will not be sold on the Polish market.
The transit must end in the seaports of Gdańsk, Gdynia, Świnoujście or Szczecin or outside the territory of Poland.
Cereals, eggs, poultry and beekeeping products will be covered by the electronic surveillance system. The vehicles transporting them will be sealed, and their route will be tracked.
On Tuesday, Ukraine reached an agreement with Poland about unlocking transit of Ukrainian agricultural products. This happened after Poland, Hungary and Slovakia also banned the import of Ukrainian agricultural products due to pressure from farmers in these countries.
Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki convened an additional meeting of the government on April 21because Warsaw’s blocking of grain imports from Ukraine did not calm the discontent of agrarians.
