What is known
The new package of sanctions involves the introduction of restrictions on companies that help Russia circumvent sanctions. For this purpose, the authorities of Ukraine compiled a list of companies that, in their opinion, are “war sponsors.”
According to Politico, Greece and Hungary want some of their companies to be excluded from the sanctions list. Such a position caused tension at the meeting of EU foreign ministers at the beginning of this week, where German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock directly criticized Hungary. Several European officials spoke about this publication.

According to four diplomats, Greece opposed the new package of restrictions at this meeting.
“Greece stated that if concrete evidence of a violation of sanctions appears, it should be brought to the attention of the interested member states at the technical level, so that it is properly investigated, and then appropriate measures are taken,” said the representative of the EU.
According to a European official, Greek companies were included in the list as “war sponsors” despite the fact that they do not violate sanctions.
Let’s remind
Earlier, Hungary blocked the allocation of a new tranche of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 500 million euros from the European Peace Fund. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjarto said that Budapest will not approve the allocation of money to Ukraine until the sanctions against the Hungarian OTP Bank are lifted.
