Priest Alexey Uminsky was banned from ministry

The Moscow Patriarchate banned Archpriest Alexei Uminsky from ministry and removed him from the headship of the Moscow Church of the Holy Trinity in Khokhly. This was reported by the TV channel “Dozhd” with reference to journalist-religionist Ksenia Luchenko and parishioners of the church.
The news was also confirmed by journalist Alexey Venediktov. As “Rain” claims, the repression against Uminsky followed his anti-war ego, as stated in an interview with Venediktov.
According to “Dozhd”, Archpriest Andrey Tkachev, known for his support of the invasion of Ukraine, was appointed abbot of the Trinity Church instead of Uminsky.
The Russian Orthodox Church has not yet officially announced the removal of Uminsky and his ban from ministry. On the website of the temple, he is listed as the abbot.
Uminsky was the abbot of the Trinity Church in Khokhly for more than 30 years. He is also known as a publicist, who has repeatedly expressed his disagreement with the decisions of the Russian authorities. In particular, he spoke in support of political prisoners – from Mikhail Khodorkovsky to those accused in the so-called Moscow case, was a defense witness at the trial of the liquidation of the International “Memorial”.
According to a message on Ksenia Luchenko’s Telegram channel “Orthodoxy and zombies”, in the Church of the Assumption in Gazetny Pereulok in Moscow, priest Vladimir Lapshin was removed from the headship – it is said that this happened at the end of December. Lapshina channel calls “one of the last disciples of Archpriest Alexander Men in the sacred rank.” Officially, there was also no information about the change of the rector of this temple.

All priests of the Russian Orthodox Church are prescribed to read a special “prayer for Holy Russia” in churches, which speaks of “victory”.
