In Krasnodar Krai, activists who protested against the landfill in Poltavskaya village are being searched. This was reported by the secretary of the regional branch of the CPRF Alexander Safronov.
The police seize computers and other equipment. “This is repression against eco-activists for their position with the demand to close the landfill in the village of Poltava. Shame on the authorities!” – wrote Safronov in his Telegram channel.
Judging by the published video, the searches are taking place on the territory of the auto shop. The entrance to the company’s territory is blocked, people are not allowed out, the police have forbidden video recording.
As Natalya Garyaeva, the head of the public council on the closure of the landfill in the town of Poltava, told Kavkaz.Realii, the search is taking place in the office of the “Avtosity” service station. Employees of law enforcement bodies presented a resolution, which mentions the inspection under the article on the forgery of a car number.
Activists of the Poltava village demand to close the landfill, which, according to them, poisons the air and the surrounding land. In the spring, local residents also appealed to the authorities to change the route of the cars so that garbage trucks would not pass through the village itself. Officials promised to make bypass routes, however, they did not keep their promise. Activists began to block the road to the landfill for garbage trucks. The action, which took place on April 6, was dispersed by the police, several people were detained.
Residents of the village of Poltava also went to court with a demand to close the landfill. In October of last year, the Kuban court recognized gross violations at the landfill, as well as the inaction of officials to eliminate them. However, on April 11, the arbitration appeals court refused to close the landfill.
- Residents of the village of Poltava village of the Krasnoarmey district of the Krasnodar region have been drawing attention for more than a year to the problems created by their neighborhood with a landfill that, in their opinion, operates with serious violations. They repeatedly complained to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Russia and the presidential administration, from where the appeals were returned to the governor of the Krasnodar region.
- An activist of the “Poltava against the landfill” movement, 58-year-old businessman Andrey Garyaev shot himself after he was fined 32 million rubles according to the administrative protocol. Prior to this, Garyaev and his acquaintance declared pressure on the Magistrate’s Court, which made such a decision.
