Putin ordered the nationalization of the cartridge plant in Podolsk due to a heating emergency

The Klimovsk specialized cartridge factory, on the territory of which the emergency boiler room is located, will be nationalized. Such a decision was made by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the governor of the Moscow Region, Andrey Vorobyev, at a meeting of the regional government.

On January 4, residents of 173 apartment buildings were left without heating in the north-eastern part of the city of Klimovsk (part of the Podolsk district). At the same time, the temperature outside dropped below minus 20 degrees. The reason was the breakdown of the heating line due to an accident at the boiler room of the Klimovsko Specialized Cartridge Plant (KSPZ).

According to Vorobyov, stopping the emergency boiler room and freezing it “presupposes very complex operational measures.” Two owners of the Klimovsk cartridge factory are abroad. The authorities of the region have already received the right to take the departmental boiler house “under management” as part of an emergency situation. A special regime related to the fact that the cartridge plant is a military industrial complex was also removed from the facility.

Earlier, the authorities of the Moscow region stated that they could not control the operation of the boiler house, since it is located on the territory of a “regime object”. And they learned about the problems that arose only from social networks, where citizens began to complain en masse.

On January 7, a criminal case was initiated. According to the investigation, the accident at the boiler room was caused by improper operation of the equipment.

On January 9, the Investigative Committee of Russia announced the detention of the deputy head of the Podolsk city district administration, the general director of the cartridge factory and the head of the boiler room.

The official is suspected of exceeding his official powers with serious consequences. According to the investigation, he signed the certificate of readiness for the heating season, knowing about the defects in the equipment in the KSPZ boiler room, which led to the accident on the heating line.
