“This year, the government increased funding for such works to UAH 104 million. And we hope that other regions, in which no socially useful works are yet being carried out, will join this project in the near future, and in the regions where they have already started, they will more actively attract the unemployed to them,” said Tatiana Berezhnaya.

- in the Poltava region — almost 1,500 people,

Types of work
The types of socially necessary works depend on the needs of a specific region. In particular, the unemployed are involved in clearing rubble and restoring residential buildings damaged as a result of hostilities, arranging basements for shelter, packing humanitarian aid, cooking food for the military, weaving camouflage nets.
For performing such work, they receive at least UAH 6,700, which is more than the average amount of unemployment benefits.
The Deputy Minister also noted that among the unemployed recruited into the “Reconstruction Army” there are both men and women in almost equal proportions. Most of them are people in the most working age of 35-50 years.
According to the professional group, these are mainly qualified workers (agricultural and forestry workers, workers with tools, workers who service technological equipment and machines).
