The Center for Combating Extremism is calling and interviewing residents of the Moscow Region who helped pay the fine to the activist, whose name has not been released. This was reported by the “ROSshtraf” project, which organized the collection.
“ROSshtraf” found out that the employees of the “E” center got access to the bank data of the fined person. The police associate the activist with the Vesna democratic movement (in December, the movement was recognized as extremist, but the court decision has not yet entered into force). “ROSshtraf” notes that the fined person and the coordinators of “Vesny” do not know each other.
According to the law, the police can obtain bank data only by a court decision if there is a basis – “ROSshtraf” assumes that a criminal case is initiated against the fined person. On the advice of lawyers, the activist left Russia. After this case, “ROSfine” changed the collection format: for safety reasons, money for fines is now collected on the coordinator’s card.
In the case of a summons for an interview, the human rights project “First Department” recommends coming to it with a lawyer, using Article 51 of the Constitution of Russia and carefully reading all the papers that require the police to sign.
