Roskomnadzor accused two video services of LGBT+ propaganda

For the first time, Roskomnadzor filed charges against two regional video services, Movix and Peers.TV, in violation of the law on the prohibition of LGBT+ propaganda. The court issued administrative protocols against them, online cinemas are threatened with a fine of up to 4 million rubles or the suspension of their activities for a period of up to 90 days.
It is clarified that the services are accused of showing materials containing LGBT scenes to minors prohibited by this law. It is not said what works are in question, cinemas did not respond to RBC’s request.
Roskomnadzor announced that another 15 similar violations were detected by the regulator in a dozen other audiovisual services. Protocols for them will be drawn up later, they said.
The law on propaganda was signed by President Vladimir Putin in early December. He actually prohibits the distribution of any information about homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism, minors are now prohibited from demonstrating the very existence of what the legislators called “non-traditional relationships”.
The bill was sharply criticized by human rights and LGBT+ organizations, which noted that it increases stigmatization and discriminates against the LGBT+ community.
