Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners according to the “45 for 45” formula.
The head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak wrote in a telegram that, in particular, two officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 40 privates and sergeants, a civilian employee of “Azovstal” and a fighter of the Teroborony from Kherson have returned to the family.
According to the official, the servicemen fought near Bakhmut, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kharkiv areas.
Two children were also returned from Russia – a six-year-old boy and a ten-year-old girl. According to Ermak, the children’s mother was in captivity and returned home as a result of a large exchange in October last year, and the children were illegally taken out of the territory of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia confirmed the return to the family of Russians who were in mortal danger in captivity. All of them will be sent for treatment and rehabilitation. The Russian side usually does not provide other details when exchanging prisoners.
Judging by the personnel published by the Russian Defense Ministry, the exchange took place in the area on the border with the Belgorod region.
The last time the parties exchanged prisoners was on June 11. Then Russia returned 94 people, and Ukraine – 95.
