A Russian business center has opened in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. It was founded on the initiative of Tatarstan. The founder was the Kazan Charitable Patriotic Fund of Muslims of Russia. Thus, Russia became the only country in the world with a business representative office in Afghanistan.
On the Russian side, the first secretary of the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan, Alexey Nikolaev, and the embassy’s adviser on economics took part in the opening ceremony. Rynat Boranukov, reports “Tatar-Info”.
Businessmen from Russia will be able to come to the business center, live there and conduct negotiations. The territory of the center is under heavy security. Director of the charitable foundation Rustam Khabibullin said that if necessary, trips to other districts of Kabul and the provinces of Afghanistan will be organized.
A representative office of the Tatarstan energy company “KER-holding” was opened on the site of the business center. She intends to build coal-fired power plants in Afghanistan.
Earlier, Khabibullin noted that the Afghan government intends to attract investments in the construction of cement, oil refining and petrochemical plants, as well as pharmaceutical complexes. They are ready to offer public-private partnership options.
- At the head of Afghanistan is the Islamic radical group “Taliban”, recognized by the Russian authorities as terrorist and banned in Russia.
- After the Taliban came to power in 2021, human rights were massively violated in the country. Secular legislation has been almost completely replaced by Sharia law. In Afghanistan, persecution of dissidents and public treasury is practiced. Women are denied the right to education and work.
