Precincts for voting in the presidential elections of Russia will be opened in almost 300 countries, including those that the Russian authorities call “unfriendly”. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova.

Polling stations are planned to be opened in all countries where there are Russian diplomatic missions and consular offices. Zakharova warned against attempts to disrupt the voting by “illegal actions” or “extremism” and warned of administrative and criminal liability. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Russian authorities will take measures to ensure security during the voting.

Due to the reduction of personnel and the closure of diplomatic establishments in the Baltic countries, Germany, Finland, the Czech Republic, Moldova and other countries, the number of polling stations will be smaller.

  • Voting in the presidential elections of Russia will take place from March 15 to 17, 2024. Elections in Russia are assessed by independent observers and experts as not free and dishonest. The authorities regularly intervene in the electoral process, make access to the opposition more difficult, create advantages for pro-power candidates, and in some cases outright falsifications are involved.
