The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in an evening briefing on Monday that the Russian-appointed administration of the city of Skadovsk in the Kherson region has begun curtailing its activities. The same situation is observed in several nearby settlements.
The General Staff said that Russian administrations are loading documents and office equipment into cars and taking them out of Skadovsk. Also, according to his message, some employees have already left the city. The same is reported about the situation in the nearby settlements of Mykhailovka, Petrovka, Shevchenko, Shirokoe, Ulyanivka and Krasnoe.
Many of these points are located on the Black Sea coast near the border with the annexed Crimea. However, the General Staff assumes that due to traffic jams at the entrance to Crimea, they may try to take documents and property to occupied Berdyansk on the Sea of Azov.
According to the Russian news agency TASS, the head of the Russian-appointed administration of Skadovsk, Lyudmila Khotienko, denied this information.
Appointed by the Russian authorities, the temporary head of the occupied part of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balytsky, said on Monday that Russia is suspending the operation of power units of the Zaporozhye NPP and evacuating officials from the occupied cities of the Kherson region. According to him, this is a “forced measure” caused by the “unpredictability of the actions of the Ukrainian army.”
Earlier, Balytskyi reported on the evacuation of 1.5 thousand residents of the front-line districts of Zaporozhye, a territory not controlled by Kyiv, deep into the region. According to the main version, this step was taken in anticipation of a possible offensive of the Armed Forces.
