At least four addresses were searched in Perm in connection with the case of the former coordinator of Navalny’s local headquarters, Sergei Ukhov. The day before, he himself called the FSB.

According to the Telegram channel “Perm 36.6”, the searches took place in the apartments of activist Valentin Murzaev, journalist Oksana Asaulenko, human rights defender Sergey Trutnev, and the house of the mother of lawyer Artyom Faizulin. Equipment was seized from them.

Yesterday, August 16, a video appeared on YouTube in which Ukhov calls the FSB and asks under what article they are looking for him. During the conversation, Ukhov did not find out what he was being accused of.

Today, August 17, it became known that Ukhova is wanted for the article about public calls for anti-state activities. Asaulenko learned about this during a search of her apartment. Ukhov himself is not in Russia.

  • In 2021, the Russian authorities recognized the Anti-Corruption Fund and the headquarters of opposition politician Alexei Navalny as extremist organizations. After that, repressions against supporters of the politician intensified. Many of them were forced to leave Russia.
  • The former coordinators of the headquarters in Ufa and Barnaul – Lilia Chanysheva and Vadym Ostanin – were sentenced to 7.5 and 9 years in prison, respectively. Now the case of the former head of the Tomsk headquarters of Navalny, Ksenia Fadeeva, is being considered.
  • Navalny himself has been in the colony since February 2021. In August 2023, he was given another 19 years of special regime under articles on extremism.
