Seven people have been arrested in Turkey, who are suspected of passing on information to the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. The Turkish state news agency “Anadolu” writes about this, referring to unnamed officials.

Interlocutors of the agency claim that “Mossad” uses private detectives to observe, photograph and track targets in Turkey. The main prosecutor’s office in Istanbul said that the suspects sold information to the Mossad through private detectives.

During the operation of the National Intelligence Organization and the Main Directorate of Security, seven of the nine suspects were detained in two cities – Istanbul and Izmir.

Turkey previously warned Israel of “serious consequences” if it tries to hunt down members of the radical Palestinian group Hamas who live outside the Palestinian territories, including in Turkey. The group is recognized as terrorist in the USA and the EU.

Last December, the head of Israel’s Shin Bet Security Service, Ronen Bar, said that Israel was ready to kill Hamas leaders anywhere, including in Lebanon, Turkey and Qatar.
