Since the beginning of the year, customs have detected more than 8,000 violations: the value of illegal property has tripled

From January to August, the State Customs Service detected 8,110 violations of customs rules, the value of the objects of the offense increased almost three times compared to the same period last year, to 6.7 billion hryvnias.

In the first 8 months of the year, customs officials seized objects of offenses in the amount of almost UAH 559 million. In particular:
- industrial goods for UAH 398 million;
- food products for 58 million hryvnias;
- currency for 66 million hryvnias;
- vehicles 37 million hryvnias.
2,269 cases of violation of customs rules were directly examined by customs. Also, 81.6 million UAH were collected in the form of fines, of which 48 million UAH went to the state budget.
4,451 cases of violation of customs rules for 2 billion hryvnias were submitted to the customs court for consideration. According to the results of the review, the courts confiscated goods and fined more than UAH 1.5 billion (confiscation – UAH 800 million, fines – UAH 718 million).
