“SPB Exchange” submitted an application to the Arbitration Court of Moscow to declare itself bankrupt. This is reported by TASS and RIA Novosti. Information about the application also appeared in the court file.

The claim was registered on November 24. It was filed by unnamed creditors. The debtor is specified as “SPB Exchange”. The press service of the Moscow Arbitration Court told Interfax that the application has not yet been accepted by the judge’s office. Information on this case will be given after receiving the application.

“SPB Exchange” refutes reports that it filed for bankruptcy.

After news of the bankruptcy appeared, the shares of “SPB Exchange” fell by almost 35% to 63.8 rubles per paper in trading on the Moscow Stock Exchange. Later, the shares recovered part of the fall and began to trade in the region of 89.3 rubles per paper.

In early November, “SPB Exchange” came under US sanctions. The site was included in the list of private individuals and organizations with which US citizens are prohibited from doing business.

“SPB Exchange” is a platform for organizing trades in securities of foreign companies on the Russian financial market. In September 2023, the total volume of transactions amounted to 2.42 billion dollars, of which 2.11 billion fell on securities listed in the United States.
