Chinese student Xu Haoyang, accused of so-called LGBT propaganda, was expelled from Russia. On Monday, he flew from Moscow to his family.
21-year-old Khaoyan has been fascinated by the Russian language since his youth. After school, he entered the university in Kazan. There he met Gela Gohyshvili. A romantic relationship arose between the young people. Haoyan and Gela ran a video blog in which they talked about their lives, learning Russian and Chinese languages, and their general interest in K-pop music.
On April 5, Xu and Gohyshvili were detained by the police. According to Gohyshvyla, “Orthodox activist” Timur Bulatov wrote a denunciation against them.
Xu and Hogishvili were charged with so-called LGBT propaganda. The court found 19 videos in which Xu and his partner Gela Gohyshvili “touch each other on different parts of the body, including the genitals.” In addition, the court decided that Xu in this way “spread the desire to change gender among minors”, “Sota” reports.
On April 13, the Supreme Court of Tatarstan approved the decision to deport Xu to China, despite numerous errors in the protocol. Recently, he was in a detention center for foreign citizens, where, according to his partner, he was not fed or given clean drinking water.
Gele Hohyshvili may face a fine of up to 50,000 rubles.
- From December 2022, the distribution of any non-judgmental information about homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism is prohibited in Russia. Fines of up to 400,000 rubles for citizens and up to five million rubles for organizations are provided for this.
