The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan released the Russian ambassador Oleg Malgynov because of the statements of the co-chairman of the party “Just Russia – For the Truth” Zakhar Prilepin, who at a public event proposed to join Uzbek territories to Russia.

According to the official statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting with Malginov, “it was proven in principle that such rash statements are obviously provocative and may negatively affect the historically friendly relations” between Uzbekistan and Russia. According to the same message, Malgynov noted at the meeting that “the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Uzbekistan have never been questioned in Russia.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Prilepin’s statements “have nothing to do with the official position of the Russian leadership.”

The day before, Zakhar Prilepin, speaking at a meeting of one of his military-political structures, said that conflicts with migrants that periodically arise in Russia can be resolved by joining new territories – in particular, Uzbek territories. “I sincerely stand for these territories, where guest workers come to us, to join them and teach people the Russian language on the spot. So that they are not taught here, but there, let’s say, in Uzbekistan,” Prilepin said.

In addition, he stated that after the alleged victory in the war with Ukraine, no one will be able to prevent Russia from “doing something useful on the Eurasian territory”, including making claims on the territory of the former USSR. “I’m not kidding. We’ll raise the topic of disavowing the collapse of the Soviet Union, which will allow us to say at any moment: ‘Since two million of our citizens are on your territory, we claim it,'” Prilepin explained.

  • In August, Zakhar Prilepin received the post of deputy commander of the Roshvardiya regiment “Oplot”. According to him, in the near future the regiment will receive heavy weapons. “The tasks set before us by the leadership of the Roshvardiya and the President of Russia will be fulfilled,” the politician summarized, without specifying what these tasks were. According to the Daily Storm, the “Oplot” regiment will be deployed in the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine.
