US citizen Alicia Day, who was detained on Red Square with a calf and then arrested for 13 days, was banned from entering Russia for 40 years. The migration service motivated this by the fact that Day violated the rules of staying in the country for foreign citizens, since she lived in its territory without registration. The US citizen herself stated that she did not know about such rules.
34-year-old Alicia Day is an environmental activist. At the end of January, she came across an advertisement for the sale of a calf on the Internet and decided to buy the animal so that it would not be eaten.
On January 31, Day went to the center of Moscow to walk her pet and was detained by the police near Red Square. The calf was taken from her and placed in an animal rehabilitation center. The next day, the court in Moscow arrested the American woman and fined her 20,000 rubles.
