The Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the day before, the Ukrainian military struck a training ground in the Russian-occupied part of the Kherson region, where the Russian military was conducting exercises.

According to the representative of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine Natalya Humenyuk, the assault group was training at the training ground, which was supposed to participate in the attack on the village of Krynky on the left bank of the Dnieper, where the Ukrainian army’s bridgehead is located. As a result of the strike, according to Humenyuk, at least 60 Russian servicemen were killed.

In the conditions of active hostilities, it is not possible to independently verify the statements of the parties. However, the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState and Russian pro-military bloggers reported on the strike on the training ground and heavy losses the day before. A video of the alleged blow, or rather, three blows, inflicted, obviously, with small time intervals, was also published.

The strike, apparently, was delivered from the HIMARS salvo fire system. DeepState geolocated the place on which the strikes were carried out – this is the territory of the Alyoshkinskie Sands National Park near the village of Podo-Kalinovka. The Russian project “Fisherman” also provides exact coordinates.

  • This is the second such attack in two days on a concentration of Russian troops in the near rear. On February 20, as a result of an attack on a training ground in the occupied part of the Donetsk region, at least 68 Russian servicemen were killed, according to “Important Histories”. Officially, the Ministry of Defense of Russia does not report the losses.
  • Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin that the Ukrainian military had been expelled from Krynok. At the same time, Shoigu noted that some of them are “still sitting in the basements”, which contradicts his statements about the “cleansing” of the village. The Ukrainian military rejected Shoigu’s claims, saying that the bridgehead in Krynky still exists.
