Denys Horyn, a resident of the Sakhalin region, accused of murdering at least four people and cannibalism, left the colony where he was serving a 22-year sentence and went to war in Ukraine. The Telegram channel “Sakhalin Against the War” drew attention to this.
Now Horyn is in the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk hospital with a moderate injury, his neighbor Dmytro told the editors of Sibir.Realii. “Consider, at liberty, pardoned, half-term as from the bush,” he added.
For the first time, Horyn was sentenced to 10 years in a maximum-security prison in 2003 for murder and mocking the body of a murdered man. Seven years later, he was paroled for exemplary behavior.
In June 2011, brothers Denys and Yevgeny Horyny severely beat a man. While the victim was unconscious, Yevgeny Horyn killed him with a knife. In January 2012, the Horina brothers stabbed another person to death.
In the summer of 2012, at least the fourth murder committed by Denys Horyn was solved. According to the investigation, in November 2010 he first killed a man, and then cut meat from the legs of the corpse, which he put in the refrigerator and later ate. The court sentenced Denys Horyn to 22 years in a penal colony.
A month ago, a new photo appeared on Horyn’s social media page – in a military uniform with a Z symbol on the sleeve.
- After the start of the war with Ukraine, Russia regularly releases murderers, rapists, and those convicted of other serious crimes. Relatives of those killed and injured protest, but to no avail.
- By November, according to journalists’ estimates, Russian President Vladimir Putin pardoned at least 17 people previously convicted of murder. All of them participated in the war in Ukraine and returned from the front to freedom. Some have already committed new crimes.
