The average salary for the first quarter of 2023 grew by 3.1% compared to March 2022. Now it is UAH 13,423. This is stated in the message of the Pension Fund.

Indicator of average salary

The average salary indicator for the first quarter of 2023 was approved by the Pension Fund. So, in March, the average salary indicator, taken into account for pension calculation, was at the level of 13,423 hryvnias.

However, in February this figure was UAH 12,794, and in January — UAH 12,644. The PFU notes that the calculation of the indicators of the average salary (income) in Ukraine is made according to the information of the State Tax Service.

“The specified information includes, in particular, data from insurers’ reports on wages (income), on which a single contribution is charged, and the average number of full-time employees employed at enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership,” the message says.

Average salary As a reminder

  • The State Statistics Service published quarterly data on the average salary in 2022. It follows from them that the average monthly salary at the end of 2022 amounted to UAH 14,857 (including UAH 16,477 in the 4th quarter).

  • The average salaries at the end of 2022 were traditionally in the field of information technologies (30,853 UAH) and the financial sector (27,969 UAH), the lowest – in postal and courier activities (8,598 UAH).
