A court in Moscow recognized the extremist book “Aksioner” by Andrey Pronsky, one of the defendants in the case of preparing an attempt on TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov. This is reported by Kommersant.

The meeting on the case of banning the book at the request of the prosecutor’s office took place on the third request, the hearings were initially disrupted due to the impossibility of organizing a video broadcast from the pre-trial detention center where Pronsky is held. The defendant’s lawyer did not appear at the hearing. According to the defendant, he did not have time to notify the defense attorney about the hearings, as he is prohibited from correspondence and telephone conversations.

The prosecutor stated in court that the author of the book “Shareholder” is hiding under a pseudonym. The signature is illegible. According to her, during the investigation of the criminal case, the expertise established not only the presence of extremist statements in the book, but also Pronsky’s involvement in its writing. The accused himself stated that the investigation of the case has not been completed, his materials have not been submitted to the court, therefore, his connection with the publication of the book has not been established.

The court not only found the book “Aksioner” extremist and banned it, but also fined Pronsky six thousand rubles. When asked by the judge if he understood the decision, Pronsky managed to say: “It’s just brilliant”, after this the video link with the pre-trial detention center was turned off.

In April of last year, the FSB detained seven suspects, including Andrei Pronsky, on suspicion of preparing an assassination attempt on TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov. Later he was arrested and sent to a pre-trial detention center.

In 2011, Pronsky was accused of murder and abuse of the victim’s body, committed on the basis of national hatred. However, he was diagnosed with “paranoid schizophrenia of the continuous type” and sent to compulsory treatment. In 2021, while under the supervision of a psychiatrist, Pronsky took part in a mass brawl. Then the court limited him to house arrest. It was then, as the investigation claims, that he joined a terrorist organization that committed arson and prepared murders, including at the behest of the Ukrainian special services.

On May 30, Andrey Pronsky was declared legally competent. He could face a life sentence.

  • Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the detention of alleged members of a terrorist group, which, according to representatives of the authorities, was planning an attempt on Vladimir Solovyov last April. It was claimed that the order to kill Soloviev came from the SBU. In Ukraine, they said that they had nothing to do with this case. Neither Putin, the FSB, nor the journalist himself presented evidence of the preparation of an attempt on Solovyov.
