The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved raising loans for $1.5 billion under the guarantee of the Japanese government. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

“We are approving an agreement to attract a loan of $1.5 billion under the guarantee of the Japanese government as part of the project to support the development and recovery policy,” Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.
Where will the funds go?
According to the Prime Minister, these funds will be used to strengthen social protection and restore Ukraine.

The “Ministry of Finance” wrote that the government approved the attraction of a grant for budgetary support of Ukraine from the IBRD and IDA in the amount of $1.27 billion from the Trust Fund of many donors ($1.25 billion from the USA and $15 million from Finland), as well as loans from the IBRD in the amount $500 million as the fifth additional financing for the project “Supporting public expenditures to ensure sustainable government in Ukraine.”
