The authorities of a village in Karachay-Cherkessia sent the conscript’s wife to the circus and put her in a queue for firewood. The video appeal of the victim, who introduced herself as Irina Nikyforyak, was published by the Telegram channel of the regional “People’s Front”.
According to Nikyforyak, her husband was “voluntarily mobilized” in January. In this regard, the local authorities promised to give her firewood. However, instead of them, the head of the village administration gave her two tickets to the circus and told her that he had put her in line for firewood. At the same time, he “doesn’t hesitate” to say that there will be no firewood “most likely”.
“Narodny Front” clarifies that the Nikyforyak family has two disabled persons of the first group and a ten-year-old child. She turned to the authorities more than once and heard only promises in return. Lyudmila Kappusheva, the head of the regional branch of the “Obschenorodny Front” in the comments under Nikyforyak’s video call, said that “the issue is under control in the government” and that “firewood will be available soon.”
- Firewood was also promised in exchange for those mobilized in Karelia and Buryatia. In Tuva, they offered a live ram, coal, flour, potatoes and cabbage, and in the Sakhalin region – five kilograms of fish.
- At the end of October, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that the mobilization of Russians for the war in Ukraine was over. At the same time, Putin did not sign the decree on the end of mobilization. Earlier, in response to a parliamentary request, the presidential administration confirmed that the decree on mobilization continues to apply.
